Golfing on The Isle of Arran

Golfing on The Isle of Arran

Recently we stayed at the super comfortable five star The Douglas Hotel  in the town of Brodick with views over the bay and Goat Fell mountain.

Arran is located on the west coast of Scotland and is known as ‘Scotland in miniature’ it features seven golf courses and Shiskine Golf Course is a unique 12 hole course on the west of the island with views over to the Mull of Kintyre. It is a seaside links course with astonishing views.

You can actually play all seven course on Arran by purchasing a Golf Pass. The Pass entitles the bearer to play each of Arran’s seven golf courses for the amazing price of £140. Simply book your tee-time in advance by phone or online, turn up and play! The Arran Golf Pass offers great value compared to the costs of paying to play each of the courses individually.

Although the middle of summer the play was a tad chilly and so we had to wrap up a little on the windier holes.

After golf make sure you take a trip to the Cladach Beach Bar in Brodick where you will find an array of cocktails made from Arran Gin and a casual beach bar vibe with beautiful views over the bay.

If you are a whisky lover Arran also has two fantastic whisky distilleries you can visit and sample the local whisky Lagg Distillery in the south of he island and Arran Distillery in Lochranza in the north.

We were carrying the Buchanan Harris Tweed range of head covers on our golf bag whilst in Arran.
